Conference and Photo Exhibition Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Massive Earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan at the European Parliament


Atlas International Culture coordinated a conference and photo exhibition in the European Parliament in Brussels on February 22, 2018, managing the planning of the event.

In memory of the massive earthquake that hit Wenchuan County, China’s Sichuan Province ten years ago, this event had for objectives to re-assert the strong bound between China and Europe, more specifically in case of natural disasters and need for support.

On the impulse of the Dr. Istvan Ujhelyi, Vice Chair of the Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament and President of the Europe-China “One Belt One Road” Culture and Tourism Development Committee, several high-level officials, including Ambassador Zhang Ming, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, Vice Governor Yang Xingping of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Vice President Dimitrios Papadimoulis of the European Parliament, and the MEP Nirj Deva were gathered to reflect on the infamous Sichuan earthquake that occurred on May 12 2018 and the efficient help that the EU provided, which helped cement the relation between EU and China.

Photographers, journalists and other guests were also invited to this event.
